The Animal Project
The chipmunk is a fast and energetic mammal. The chipmunk is part of the squirrel family. In the wild the chipmunk will live up to 3 years. All species of chipmunks are found in North America except to one in Asia. As the chipmunk doesn’t inhabit the UK I think it would be more suitable to write about the chipmunk, as a pet.

Firstly the chipmunk is an omnivorous creature so it wouldn't eat meat it would eat vegetation. Its favourite food is nuts like the squirrel. The preferred nut it eats is peanuts but not salted or roasted but dry peanuts. There is an actual food substance to feed a pet chipmunk it is named muesli. It is filled with chipmunk's favourite foods. With a chipmunk you cannot give it more than one peanut a day, this is because if you give too much the chipmunk will became in a way addicted.

The best habitat for them to live in as a pet is a caged space with enough space for them to climb and simply wonder around. Chipmunk cages can be bought from various pet stores although it would be better to make your own as most cages have no space for them to climb, ie a small tree for to climb around on. The cage should suit their height, weight and size. The average height for a chipmunk is about 19cm and the average weight is 42g.
