Habitats

Although these urban animals have adapted to our human behaviour, they can still keep in touch with their natural habitats. For example the Feral pigeon although its natural habitat is based around tall cliffs near the seaside it has adapted its habitat by nesting on tall building ledges, which gives them an advantage in seeing its prey or to escape being prey.A habitat is a natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism. Different animals would live in a habitat even different species of animals live in different areas to suit them. All living organisms live in a area which best fits their diety needs, safety, comfort, weather conditions and well being. This is why different animals live in different areas like; Most spider would live in a dry area but some species of spiders its better in humid places but this is how adaptation comes into play; The red foxes perfect habitat is near a water source, good area for drainage as red foxes normally live in areas of heavy rainfall. Although red foxes like to move around; A Pine Marten's perfect habitat is hight up on the trees as they are well accomplished climbers;Otter's perfect habitat is where there is watery areas and where there is plenty of cover, for example by freshwater lakes, rivers, and some smaller streams. They can also be found along some parts of the coast. They need large stretches of water (20-40 km) with vegetation for cover, and plenty of fish to eat.

Although as you already probably know many animal habitats are being destroyed like trees being cut down so animals or insects living in that tree could easily die and they are forced to move away. Things like this happen everyday. In the Amazon Rainforest between 1990 and 2005 in Brazil alone 7,351,000 acres were destroyed for peoples growing selfless needs. This is one of the main reasons animals and insects must adapt to different surrounds which would make it harder for them to live. Humans are their main problem. This is how we have mainly impacted on their lives for the worse.
